The International Economics Department of Cracow University of Economics invites you to the 4th Biannual International Scientific Conference entitled Globalization and regionalization in the contemporary world: competitiveness, development, sustainability.

Since 2012 the International Economics Department organizes cyclic scientific conferences about recent developments in World economics. A special focus is attributed to globalization and regionalization related topics, both in local, regional and global scale. Our conferences are a forum of exchange of ideas and perspectives, as well as an unique opportunity to widen our Department's research network.

Drawing from the experiences of the previous conferences organized in 2012, 2014 and 2016, we would like to invite you to submit your papers and participate in the following scientific gathering. Like in the past, our ambition is that the Glob2018 conference becomes an international forum for exchange of experiences and views as well as a debate on the development of contemporary world economy.

During the conference a Citizen's Dialogue panel will be held. Title:
"Assessment of condition of Polish Economy by the European Commission.
Perspectives and challenges in the light of country specific recommendations in frames of the European Semester" - with participation of Mr Bartosz Otachel, Economic Advisor of European Commission's Representation to Poland.

A panel discussion (policy panel) will be held as well. Topic:
"Convergence in the European Union: is there a trilemma between sustainability, stabilization, and competitiveness?" Moderator: Prof.
Wojciech Bieńkowski, Ph.D. (Lazarski University, Warsaw).
Participants: Prof. António Afonso, Ph.D. (ISEG, Lisbon), Prof.
Michael Arghyrou, Ph.D. (Cardiff Business School, Cardiff), Prof.
Jérôme Creel, Ph.D. (OFCE, Paris), Prof. Elżbieta Kawecka-Wyrzykowska, Ph.D. (SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Warsaw), dr hab. Maciej Krzak (Team Europe's Expert).

The Conference will be held under the auspices of His Magnificence, Prof. UEK dr hab. inż. Andrzej Chochół, Rector of the Cracow University of Economics/

2 - 16 October!

1. Language qualifications

One of the following:

  • Results from exams organized by Language Centre (not earlier than 2 years)
  • Language certificates on min. B2 level - exceptionally to be submitted, together with supporting documents to International Programmes Office (IPO)
  • Grades from language classes ("lektoraty") conducted at the CUE on B2 and C1 level - only if exam passed on min. 4,0 - to be mentioned in on-line application completed here: e-bpz.uek.krakow.pl.

*NB! - this is additional intake - no exams will be organised. All  required documents must be submitted at the International Programmes Office.

2. Completing Application form

On-line Application will be available on e-bpz.uek.krakow.pl from October 2nd (Monday) to October 16 (Monday), till. 14:45.

3. Documents to be submitted at the IPO - until October 16

  • application form (the form has to be filled in on-line first, printed and signed)
  • CV in foreign language
  • language certificate copy (if apply)
  • other certificates copies (optionally) confirming:
  • Participation in classes conducted in foreign language
  • Work experience gained abroad
  • Additional activities (voluntary service, CUE promotion, etc.)

Above mentioned certificates shall include following details: scope of work/activities, exact dates  confirmed by employer or head of the unit and contact details to person providing references/certificate.

Exceptionally in this intake:

  • GPA will be verified by IPO in relevant Dean's Office
  • Language certificates must be submitted in IPO (if apply) and/or in case of using grades from earlier taken language exams - please make relevant note when completing application form on: e-bpz.uek.krakow.pl
  • Additional certificates shall be also submitted with mentioned above documents to IPO.

Complete set of documents shall be submitted in IPO - Stróżówka Building -  every day (except for Wednesdays) between 11-15.
